What is it about?
A week-long pilgrimmage shared with other young Catholics throughout the world who come together to celebrate their faith and share in the joy of being Catholic. Pope Francis will be there to celebrate Mass. There will tons of entertainment, inspiration, connection with thousands of young people.
What is the plan for the week?
Day 1, Tuesday – WYD Opening Ceremony
Day 2, Wednesday – Catechesis, Youth Festival
Day 3, Thursday – Catechesis, Papal Welcome
Day 4, Friday – Catechesis, Youth Festival, Via Crucis
Day 5, Saturday – Pilgrim Walk, Prayer Vigil
Day 6, Sunday – Closing Mass, Pilgrim Walk
We will also be going to Fatima.
How old do I need to be?
You need to be 15 years of age by February 2, 2023. World Youth Day happens every 3 years so if you are not that age, don’t worry, you still have plenty of time to go to another World Youth Day.

Is there any preparation for the trip?
Yes! We launch our preparation for the trip on October 1-2, 2023 with an overnight in Lismullin Conference Centre. In this weekend, you’ll find out all about the trip and the other girls who will be going. Once October weekend is complete, we will share with you a number of activities that will be on offer before going on the trip.
Is there anything else I should know about WYD 2023?
World Youth Day is a very special experience and so we want to make sure you get the most out of it. The deadline for sign up to WYD is early because we want the group to get to know eachother well before travelling to Lisbon.
